Shockwave Therapy workshop at the University of Ljubljana
University of Ljubljana, Slovenia

The purpose of the workshop was to exchange experience and good practice of Shockwave therapy and introduce its benefits and medical effects.

The first physiotherapy workshop focused on Shockwave therapy was successfully held on the 1st of June 2016 in Slovenia. BTL had a great opportunity to organize the workshop at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ljubljana with participation of 75 physiotherapists. Most of the participants were active professionals working in hospitals or private practices and also students from the University.

The workshop was divided into theoretical and practical part. At first the medical background was introduced with presentations and useful information by physiotherapists Eva Uršej and David Sok. The guest speaker was SWT licensed trainer Marina Stepić from Zagreb (Croatia). Thanks to practical demonstrations all participants were acquainted with the therapy procedure (you can watch SWT in action here). The participants discussed evidence and shared their reviews.

The uniqueness of this workshop was in the organization at the university campus. It is important to be in touch with students at universities and help them to develop their skills in physiotherapy practice. It was a pleasure to cooperate with the University of Ljubljana, the first university ever to take interest in high technology in formal education. It was the first workshop provided by the University and also the first educational event of this kind in Slovenia.
